Description This is a U.S. made two-piece H3 sliding weight AR-15 buffer, standard carbine length (3.25″). It uses the entire solid steel rear piece, to dead-blow the bolt carrier in order to prevent bolt bounce. Designed specifically for full auto and FRT (forced reset trigger) firearms. The dead blow action will only operate correctly if there is a 1/16 – 1/8″ gap between the head piece and the body. This gap is set at the factory, but can be adjusted if need be. These buffers have been thoroughly tested in a large variety of AR configurations with barrels as short as 7″ and they work absolutely fantastic with FRT’s in place. 5.1 – 5.2oz seems to be the sweet spot when it comes to making FRT’s sing. The sliding portion of the buffer weighs the same (4.3oz) as the sliding tungsten weights used in a conventional H3 buffer. However, being made of 8620 steel, instead of Tungsten, greatly reduces the cost to manufacture. Complete assembly weight is approximately 5.15oz.
