Silver willow leaf earrings

These earrings are crafted with love in my Dorset studio using recycled sterling silver, each one proudly bearing full British hallmarks. To create these unique pieces, I draw inspiration from nature, collecting willow leaves to serve as templates. Each leaf is delicately traced onto a sheet of sterling silver, then hand-sawn out. Since each leaf can only be used once, every piece becomes a singular one of a kind. The back of each piece of jewellery bears a stamp denoting the species of tree from which the leaf originated. Due to their handmade nature, slight variations from the product photos are to be expected. Willow trees are surrounded by many legends. It’s not surprising that they’re often associated with sadness and with grief, mainly because they’re often found near water, like the weeping willows lining riverbanks. But beyond that, willow branches are believed to have protective qualities against evil spirits. If you tap your knuckles on a willow tree, it’s thought to get rid of bad luck, which is where the tradition of “touching wood” comes from. Willow has many healing properties and willow bark contains a natural pain reliever called salicin, similar to aspirin, making it useful for alleviating pain.
