This poplar jousting lance is modeled after a 15th century jousting lance and features decorative fluting “reeds” above and below the hand grip. The lance is shipped in 2 parts and does require gluing with a quality wood glue. It includes the aluminum ferrule and is set to take replaceable 1.25″ inserts. There is 68″ ahead of the grip and 16″ behind the grip, and is 80″ long once assembled. With a 3-foot balsa or softwood insert the total length is about 11 feet. The Lance is 3″ at its widest point and tapers to just over 1.5″. It weighs 4.25 lbs when assembled but without the balsa insert.
